WHO IS SALLY SITOU?

  • Sally Sitou is the pre-selected candidate for the NSW Federal seat of Reid which is located in Sydney’s Inner West;
  • Sally is the daughter of hard working Laos-Chinese parents who escaped Laos a and with her husband Rui and young son Max, they live in Homebush;
  • She is a doctoral researcher at the University of Sydney Business School focusing on the finance industry;
  • Her past work experiences include working in the international education and international development sectors;
  • She was also a communications advisor at the University of Sydney;

WHAT IS THE FEDERAL ELECTORATE OF REID LIKE?

  • The NSW federal electorate of Reid is located in Sydney’s Inner Western suburbs and covers suburbs of Burwood, Abbotsford, North Strathfield, Strathfield, Canada Bay, Homebush, Sydney Olympic Park etc – (you can find out more on the suburbs on the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) website);
  • It’s demographics is a mixture of young professionals and young to middle aged families and includes Australians with Chinese (12.5%), Indian (4.7%) and Korean (5.7%);
  • The federal seat of Reid is currently held by Liberal MP Fiona Martin;

WHY IS SALLY PUTTING HER HAND UP AND RUNNING AS A CANDIDATE?

  • Sally believes in fairness and equality for all and wants to invest in schools and education;
  • She wants to see more investment in small business, local infrastructure and healthcare;
  • Sally also wants to see a clean energy future;
