Meet STEVEN HUANG – Who Is Running For The Seat Of MORETON For The Liberal Party

WHO IS STEVEN HUANG?

  • Steven Huang is the pre-selected Liberal candidate for the Queensland federal seat of Moreton, which is located in the southern suburbs of the City of Brisbane;
  • Steven has lived in and around the electorate for over thirty years. He grew up in nearby Eight Mile Plains where he attended school;
  • For the past ten years he has served as a local councillor on Brisbane City Council, representing the MacGregor ward;

WHAT IS THE FEDERAL ELECTORATE OF MORETON LIKE?

  • The federal QLD seat of Moreton is located in south – east Queensland and in the southern suburbs of the City of Queensland. It includes suburbs such as Acacia Ridge, Fairfield, Chelmer, Graceville, Salisbury, Sunnybank, Eight Mile Plains and so forth – (you can find out more on the suburbs on the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) website)
  • Its demographics is quite diverse with over (12%) of the electorate’s population having some sort of Chinese ancestry. In terms of Asian cultural background (7.2%) come from China, (3.8%) from India and (2.9%) from Taiwan;
  • The federal seat of Moreton is currently held by Labor MP Graham Perrett;

WHY IS STEVEN PUTTING HIS HAND UP AND RUNNING AS A CANDIDATE?

  • Steven understands the constraints the COVID-19 pandemic have put on the people of Moreton and plans to use his experience to remove the constraints on our local economy and deliver a plan for the infrastructure and services we need to create more better paid jobs and unlock Moreton’s potential.
