WHO IS SAHIL TOMAR?

  • Sahil Tomar is the pre-selected Liberal candidate for the VIC federal seat of Jagajaga, which is located in the north eastern suburbs of Melbourne;
  • Sahil has lived in Jagajaga electorate since his family migrated to Australia from India in 2000;
  • Sahil’s first job was delivering medicines prepared by a local pharmacist to local seniors and other vulnerable members of the community;
  • After graduating from university with a qualification in Commerce, Sahil joined the Bank of Melbourne in 2011 and later got promoted to work in the city office and became one of the youngest Relationship Managers in the Corporate and Commercial division in 2016;
  • He enjoys sports like cricket, tennis and swimming;

WHAT IS THE FEDERAL ELECTORATE OF JAGAJAGA LIKE?

  • The federal VIC seat of Jagajaga is located in the north eastern suburbs of Melbourne and includes suburbs such as Belfield. Briar Hill, Diamond Creek, Greensborough, Heidelberg, Bundoora, Eltham etc – (you can find out more on the suburbs on the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) website);
  • The seat of Jagajaga is currently held by Labor MP Kate Thwaites;
  • The demographics of Jagajaga consist of 2.3% of the population coming from a Chinese background and 1.4% having an Indian background;
